Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. You will work with a variety of materials and use different tools to create complex shapes and designs. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of CNC machinery, strong technical skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the machining operations required
Set up and prepare CNC machines, including loading and securing materials, tools, fixtures and update tool data tables
Program, edit, and optimize CNC machine code using CAM software and or manual programming
Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make necessary adjustments as needed
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance
Select and install appropriate cutting tools, drills, and fixtures for each job
Perform precision machining operations such as, but not limited to turning, milling, drilling and tapping
Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, using precision measuring tools and gauges
Make necessary adjustments to maintain product conformance and meet tight tolerances
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and improve machining processes
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining or related field is preferred
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role, with a strong understanding of CNC machinery and programming
Experience with different CNC controller manufacturers such as Mazak, Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, etc.
Proficient in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Extensive knowledge of CNC programming languages (G-code, M-code) and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam)
Familiarity with various CNC machines (mills, lathes, turning centers, etc.) and their operations
Ability to operate precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part dimensions
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to adhere to them at all times
