Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) for a full-time role in Honolulu, HI. This position offers competitive compensation and includes sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. As an NNP, you will provide comprehensive care for normal-to-high risk infants, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and technical procedures. This role will require some overnight shifts and involves working directly in the hospital setting.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide direct care, including resuscitation, physical exams, and specialized procedures on high-risk infants
- Clinical Procedures: Perform procedures such as umbilical artery and vein catheterization, endotracheal intubation, and sepsis work-ups, following clinical competencies
- Diagnostics and Prescriptions: Order and interpret lab tests and radiographs; prescribe therapies, nutrition, and supplements
- Documentation: Document histories, assessments, procedures, and progress notes; develop and implement care plans
- Collaboration: Work with attending MDs to plan treatments; develop and revise neonatal care standards and protocols
- Education and Quality Improvement: Provide staff education, participate in quality management programs, and serve as a clinical resource
- Committee Participation: Contribute to hospital committees for policy development and quality improvement
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of two years in neonatal care
- Education: Master’s degree in nursing
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse License (Hawaii) required at hire, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License (Hawaii), Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certificate, and National Provider Identifier required
Additional Requirements:
- Skilled in patient advocacy, patient assessment, leadership, and problem-solving
- Taxonomy code required at the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of Nurse Practitioner experience in an acute care setting
- Two years of recent Neonatal NP experience
- Valid Hawaii APRN Recognition with Prescriptive Authority for Hawaii State APRN prescriptive authority
