Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff
Deployment and Manufacturing Engineer.This position is located in
Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do: Join the Deployment & MFG Engineering team for Sentinel and take part in engineering solutions to deploy and deliver a state-of-the-art weapon system to our customer. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with knowledge in the fabrication, assembly, system integration, deployment and testing of engineered products. The candidate will be involved in all engineering activities supporting the deployment of critical systems for the Sentinel program. This includes, but is not limited to, working with suppliers to develop a compliant Manufacturing Plan, conducting Manufacturing Readiness Assessment (MRA) events, engineering solutions for the deployment and installation of products, Bills of Material creation, developing work and installation instructions, supporting system design, and tool design. The candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, be capable of working a variety of tasks in a proactive manner, is task oriented, self-governed, and communicates effectively with varying levels of Government, NGC, and Supplier personnel.
The candidate will provide advanced technological ideas and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to resolve technical questions and ensure compliance and execution to the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) Statement of Work (SOW) requirements. Primary responsibilities will include providing technical leadership and guidance to Deployment and Manufacturing Engineering team in support of:
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all BTP related efforts for the D&M team
- Manufacturing Engineering Statement of Work (MESOW) coordination
- Be the technical expert on important technical decisions, and help with coordination and resolution between organizations
- Acts as a leader and understands that erroneous decisions on their part will result in probable delay and failure of organizational objectives
- Develop processes by studying requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
- Investigate root cause of discrepancies and implements corrective actions
- Educate & train engineers on new and existing processes

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Science with 14 years of experience; or Master's with 12 years of experience; or PhD with 9 years of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Experience training operators/engineers on a new or improved process
- Experience with process control documentation
- Able to give guidance, tasks, and direction to other engineers in support of program execution and leadership vision
- Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review
- Demonstrated experience using SAP, Windows software packages and other electronic databases
- Comprehensive understanding of tooling, work instructions, and visual aid
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: - Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, etc.
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher awarded or reviewed in the last 6 years
- Experience performing Manufacturing Readiness Assessment's and establishing Manufacturing Readiness Levels per DoD customer requirements
- Experience working design into production and deploying engineering solutions to the field
- Previous experience on production for military programs
- Previous experience on EMD projects
- Experience with Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM)
- Experience with Siemens NX tools and Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- Knowledge of AS6500 requirements
- Demonstrated expertise working in a Model Based Manufacturing digital environment
- Ability to provide and implement technical solutions to advanced problems which require ingenuity and innovation
- Demonstrated project management experience
Salary Range: $129,500 - $194,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
