Our newly licensed school for nurse assistants is seeking an experienced instructor to join our team.
Pay per contact hour: $38 - $45 (Fulltime and/or Part Time)
Our schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Title: Instructor (Registered Nurse and Licensed Vocational Nurse)
Qualifications:
- Must have a current and valid nursing license in the State of California.
- Must have one (1) year of experience as a licensed nurse providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility in addition to one (1) year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing or two (2) years of full-time experience as a licensed nurse, at least one (1) year of which must be in the provision of direct patient care in a nursing facility.
- Must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education courses in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing. These must either be courses approved by the Board of Registered• Nursing or courses administered by an accredited educational institution.
- Must graduate from an accredited educational institution or School of Nursing, preferably a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or a related field.
- Must have at least two (2) full years of nursing experience, proven leadership and management skills, and experience planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing.
- Must have experience in supervision, principles, and the practice of teaching; must possess leadership and communication skills; must possess creativity, integrity, and initiative to perform duties; must be able to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing training practices; must be able to plan and develop new programs to enhance the student's learning experience.
- Must demonstrate successful coordinating experience and organizational, interpersonal,counseling, and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with the rules and regulations of the licensing agencies.
- Facilitate classroom and clinical learning achievement and provide learning experiences by the established and approved curricula.
- Provide academic counseling to students relative to their educational progress.
- Actively participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula.
- Actively participate in faculty meetings, training, and seminars to ensure the quality of learning provided and the coordination of classroom instruction and student clinical experience.
- In coordination with the Program Director, reviews the student's files, prepares educational materials needed for instruction, completes student evaluation and attendance, discusses the student's academic progress and disciplinary actions,discusses instructional load and schedule and discusses required educational resources.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently during working hours.
- May work flexible hours.
- May travel from one place to another.
- Subject to interruptions.
- A willingness to work beyond regular working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
- Attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
- Subject to infectious disease, substances, etc.
