A healthcare organization located in New York is actively seeking a patient-oriented and driven Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their staff. In this role, the Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide psychiatric care to clients in a community mental health setting.
Responsibilities
The Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) will:
- Render psychiatric and neurological diagnostic services for clients, utilizing the contributions of mental health professionals
- Participates in the intake and screening process of patients
- Provides medication management
- Works to insure continuity of service
- Provides referral information to alternate placement facilities
- Reviews intake and treatment plans and signs the record as required by regulations
- Participates in in-service training of professionals and nonprofessionals
- Participates in information-educational community activities to further community knowledge in the detection and prevention of psychiatric disorders
- Act as a resource person for other staff in the areas of medicine, psychiatry and neurology
Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) by the New York State Department of Education
- Board certified
- Strong psychiatric skills and knowledge
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent communication skills
