Job Details
Our Critical Care Nurse Educator Will
- Provide specialized clinical expertise and skill, acting as a support person and role model for the nursing staff
- Serve as a clinical resource to staff in the application of relevant research findings to practice
- Assess clinical skills and learning needs of the nursing staff
- Collaborate with leadership and nursing preceptors in evaluating and promoting development amongst the nursing staff
- Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and standards of patient care relevant to clinical practice
- Manage education of staff, including employees' orientation to the unit, standards of care, and competencies, as well as continuing education and in-service programs for the Department of Nursing
- Design, plan, and implement a criteria-based staff development program to meet the clinical needs of all nursing care team members
- Collaborate and consult with other departments within the hospital to assist with the provision of education programs and projects related to current health issues for employees and the community
- Take an active role in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education and patient education programs, and other educational projects as requested
- Actively participate in unit departmental and interdisciplinary programs, meetings and conferences to assist with changing trends in the delivery of patient care
- Engage in unit specific performance improvement initiatives and assist in addressing knowledge deficits identified through unit-based monitoring
What You'll Bring
- Passion for Nursing Education
- 4+ Years of Critical Care RN experience
- Leadership or Nursing Education experience preferred
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree
- **will consider candidates currently enrolled in an MSN program
- Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification strongly preferred
- Preferred Certifications: CEN, TNCC; BLS, ACLS, & PALS Instructor certification
Salary Range
USD $107,250.00 - USD $128,700.00 /Yr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
