Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineering Manufacturing Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Manufacturing Process Engineering organization. This leadership role is located in rural Iuka, Mississippi.
The assignment includes responsibility for managing technical, schedule, cost, and resources across multiple programs and may include creating Processes for the standard tooling used by the technicians supporting manufacturing needs such as hand layup, power feed drilling, hand drilling, sealing, OML Shimming control, machining, painting, and assembly of composite parts. Iuka currently produces structures for Atlas, Antares, F-35 and other high-end related parts. Our Iuka facility employs about 580 people across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Support Services. The work we do affects our national security.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Provide technical leadership and oversight of exempt engineering and non-exempt Standard Tooling Technicians of 10-15 employees.
- Support manufacturing with the appropriate resources to solve problems.
- Track department schedules, working to identify key parameters and metrics to increase efficiency and reduce program costs through technology or process creation / refinement.
- Plan manpower requirements, performing quarterly and annual performance reviews of staff.
- Develop Base of Estimates for yearly forecasting of budgets
- Ensure Team Creates and Maintain Process Work instructions.
- Ensures Standard Tooling Team performs tool accountability practices to include repair, maintenance, calibration and replenishment.
- Established Base of Estimates for Industrial Supply budgets for the programs based on delivery schedules.
- Establish Packages for yearly capital expenditures purchases.
- Ensures MPE and STS staffing levels are forecasted to meet the scaling requirements of production.
- Ensure budgets are forecasted for yearly calibration of tools and equipment.
- Ensures training is established for Manufacturing for processes or specialty equipment by the MPE team at the Profit Center level.
- Establish Procedures for calibration and Maintenance of standard tools across Manufacturing.
- Support the Employee Suggestion Program by Evaluation of suggestions.
- Support multiple shifts based on business need.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of engineering experience, or a Master's degree and 3 years of engineering experience.
- 2 years experience leading teams or projects.
- Microsoft Office Suite Experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field, or a Masters in a STEM field
- Active Secret DoD security clearance
- Active Program Access
- 5 years of demonstrated people leadership experience.
- Experience managing large scale budget forecasting, and scheduling based on Program needs.
- Demonstrated work experience leading diverse teams and building teams from the ground up.
- Working knowledge of composite manufacturing techniques
- Knowledge of continuous improvement
- Demonstrated broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business and technical capabilities.
- Experience with cross-functional engagement and building relationships with internal and external customers.

Salary Range: $102,600 - $154,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
