The Digital Learning and Software Sales Representative is responsible for revenue growth and supports the development of client relationships for both digital content subscriptions and software platform sales in the energy sector. We are seeking an experienced, mid-career person to join our dynamic sales team. This role will be pivotal in driving our growth strategy by identifying prospects and closing deals as well and managing accounts throughout the sales lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of selling software platforms and applications in various industries. Expertise specifically in the oil, gas, and energy sectors will be an asset, but not necessarily a prerequisite for this role.
We are looking for a team player who is experienced with team selling tactics and is willing to work collaboratively with other personnel to win business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales
- Qualify prospective accounts to generate new leads and build a robust sales pipeline
- Develop sales tactics based on a needs analysis of the prospective opportunity
- Execute the sale, prepare & conduct professional presentations, negotiate pricing, and present the contract to close the sale
- Coordinate internally on both proposal development and closing the sale with service line leadership
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value of our learning and development solutions.
- Maintain a consultative relationship with the purchasers or influencers of existing and prospective accounts
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote our solutions.
- Maintain CRM records including client SME’s. Connect client SME’s with company SME’s when and as appropriate
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and market insights for senior management.
- Promote client focused events: Conclave and Communities of Practice
- Provide client feedback & insights to Product teams
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of the learning and development landscape and the unique needs of different industries, preferably oil, gas, and energy.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in CRM software and other sales tools.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Expert relationship building skills
- Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines
Education, Experience and Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 5+ years of sales experience in a software and/or digital learning B2B environment, with a responsibility for self-generated leads and sector or territory management required.
- 2+ years’ selling multiple, integrated products and services preferred.
- Energy industry experience would be a plus.
