I have a very exciting opportunity to join a key client of mine in their Global growth stages. An already established business in the UK, who have some of the hottest licences of the time and are now looking to expand their offering to the US markets. They provide pocket money toys without limiting quality. This is a great business to join and a great time to be involved in their journey. The role will act as a Business Development Manager for the US Market.
The role
As a Business Development Manager you will be launching the products into the US. The company has some of the hottest licences, and some key products on the market, but they need someones key expertise and relationships to sell these products into the US Markets. This role requires a confident salesperson, that is well networked and can bring the businesses products to a range of buyers. Target customers can include top Grocers, Retailers, High Street chains, Discount channels and so on.
Key responsibilities
- Networking within the US Toy Market
- Preparing a targeted sales plan for new business
- Following a sales strategy to convert business
- Onboarding new key clients
- Meeting with customers
- Pitching new products and promotions
- Managing a number of own accounts
- Report account growth back to line
- Constantly delivering high levels of customer service to ensure repeat business
Ideal Candidate
As the Business Development Manager for the US Market, you need to already be well networked within the Consumer Goods Industry, ideally with knowledge and exposure to the Toy Industry specifically. You will be launching the products from scratch in the US Markets and a high level of confidence and autonomy will be needed to do this. You will be given all possible support and backing from the business and leadership teams, and will work very closely with the CEO to launch the US Markets.
Key requirements
- Strong sales experience
- Industry knowledge of a Consumer Goods market (Ideally Toys)
- Well networked with US Retailers, Grocers, High Street and Discount chains
- Proven track record of launching a new product/sku OR proven account growth within an established business/product range
- Strong relationship building skills
In return for your work as the Business Development Manager for the American Markets, you will be paid a highly competitive salary which is open to some discussion. You will work with and report directly in to the CEO to help shape the US business, and will be given substantial potential to grow the US team if you so wish. On top of base salary, you will receive a full compensation package inclusive of a company car allowance and further company bonus + full REMOTE working, with all travel to meet with potential clients paid for by the business + Equipment provided (phone, laptop etc.) + holiday allowance + 401k + career progression + training and support from the business owner.
