Currently, we are looking to add enthusiastic, career-minded Sales & Design Consultants with a drive for success to work with our dynamic sales team.
Our Design & Sales Consultants serve as an ambassador for FLS while representing some of the top furniture manufacturers in the world. In this role you will work with international, national, regional, and local clientele to provide a world-class shopping experience for quality home furnishings to design the home for their dream homes and office spaces.

Sales & Design Consultants are responsible for engaging clients, diagnosing their design and home furnishings needs, creating and proposing solutions, presenting product options, answering questions, closing sales, entering data, and accomplishing post-sale follow-up. The Design Consultant is required to attend sales meetings and training to acquire sales skills and product knowledge including construction, function, and pricing; to stay apprised of available furniture lines, and design trends; and to correspond with clients until every reasonable opportunity to make a sale has been utilized; cultivate favorable Client relationships; and meets all performance and sales requirements stated in the Commission Guidelines.

- Greet Clients in a warm and welcoming way at various information desks throughout the campus store.
- Interact with Clients via the telephone, via chat, email, through networking and external marketing functions or meetings.
- Discover Clients’ needs, creating design plans and layouts for the relevant area(s) of their home or office with efficient use of space, and decorating the relevant area in their home or office, mapping out space to determine furniture location and overall room layout with efficient use of space in tasteful combinations of colors, fabric, furniture, and accessories.
- Answer Clients’ specific questions pertaining to product and placement. Listen and determine Clients’ budget, style, and taste. Effectively direct Client to equivalent manufacturing lines when seeking brand names not currently available to Furnitureland South.
- Develop a business plan for building Client base which includes networking and using social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
- Develop new product knowledge and sales skills to maintain current professional standards.
- Close sales, assuring payment of required deposits, entering sales orders with accurate information.
- Participate in sales-related events and programs to facilitate achievement of company goals.
- Physically present at the on-campus store during regular business hour, remaining actively and responsive to Guest List unless working with a client.
- Establish familiarity with location and resources in all galleries.
- Compliance with Commission Guidelines.

Required Education and Experience
One to three year of sales experience. Moderate to advanced proficiency in iPad apple product or tablet usage is required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three to five years of sales experience.
- Furniture sales experience.
- Retail sales experience
Working Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This job may require extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting. This would require the ability to lift product, open and close product, or carry small items weighing up to 15 lbs.
