Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a GN&C Software Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and supporting the Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do.
NG Space Systems has an opening for a Software Engineering Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The individual in this role will lead a team of embedded software engineers developing Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Software. The individual will collaborate with Systems Engineering, GN&C Analysis & Algorithms, Guidance Computer, Integration & Test, and the Software IPT in a team environment. The individual will establish and implement Agile development techniques and metrics to help manage team progress and quality throughout the life cycle. The Manager is also responsible for cost account management, IMS task planning, software process adherence and refinement, and reporting. This position reports directly to the GN&C IPT Lead.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's in a STEM discipline; 6 Years with Masters in STEM; 04 Years with PhD.
- Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
- 3 years in a formal lead/management position.
- 2 + years of experience managing a flight- or safety-critical embedded software team using C++ object oriented design
- 1 + years of experience managing to budget and schedule using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application.
- 1+ years of experience developing full life cycle of software for a hard real-time system.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Top Secret clearance.
- Experience with architecting and writing requirements for a hard real-time system.
- Knowledge of configuration management best practices and scheduling
- One or more of the following:
- Experience and knowledge in principles of Model Based Engineering (MBE)
- Experience working in an Agile team.
- Experience designing software using UML.
- Experience as a CAM.
- Knowledge of missile GN&C SW.
- Experience as an Agile Product Owner or Scrum Master.
- Experience and knowledge in principles of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.
- Experience using Cameo EA.
- Experience as a functional manager.
- Knowledge of cost estimation.
- Experience with nuclear surety requirements (AFMAN 91-119)
- Experience developing missile flight systems software.
- Experience with DO-178C.
- Experience developing or debugging operating system software targeted for an embedded system.
- 5+ years of experience dedicated to flight- or safety-critical software development.
Salary Range: $156,000 - $234,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
