Position: Principal Engineer
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Position Overview
Manage engineering activities of multiple complex projects. Project types include solar and wind electric generating facilities, environmental retrofit to existing coal power plants. 3rd party Engineering firms and OEM will be responsible for the design. Prospective engineer will be the Engineering Lead for assigned projects and will be responsible to manage all aspects of engineering activities. The Engineer will coordinate with other Engineering Sections within company to ensure proper engineering oversight.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Coordinate the overall engineering activities between end client, Developer, Architect Engineer (A/E), and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for Generation capital projects.
- Ensure production of engineering deliverables is completed on schedule.
- Ensure the design meets stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure technical issues and constraints are resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide engineering progress updates to the project team and stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
- Has typically acquired 8 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; or 6 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is required for this position unless approval to waive this requirement is given by the organization's EVP.
- Minimum 5 years experience overseeing multi-discipline engineering work
- *ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternatives are (1) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
- PE Preferred.
- Occasional Travel to client generation facilities with some overnight travel will be required.
