Established in 1997, Sid Potts, Inc. is a private jeweler and diamond and estate broker focused on providing clients with exceptional value, a creative process, a casual atmosphere, and a client-focused approach.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Identify needs and/or interests of the client
• Guide the clients to items or services to meet their needs
• Learn about the merchandise including the designers, the quality, cut and clarity of stones and types of metals
• Develop organic and genuine relationships with clients and build a client portfolio
• Follow up with clients to thank them and recognize special occasions
• Work with vendors/jewelers regarding merchandise, repairs and custom designs
• Liaison with designers regarding trunk shows and marketing
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Achieve monthly sales goals
• Assess and process repairs
• Gift wrapping
• Assist other sales team members as needed
• Ring up sales on credit card machine
• Occasional office deliveries/errands
• Help with opening/closing duties
Qualifications
• Must have excellent attention to detail and superb organizational skills
• Interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships
• Customer service skills, with a focus on providing an exceptional client experience
• Integrity, honesty and client confidentiality a must
• Effective communication skills, including listening and responding to client needs
• Proven sales experience and ability to meet or exceed sales targets; experience in luxury goods sales preferred
• Experience with fine jewelry desirable, but not required
• Above average proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Excellent attendance and dependability
• Well dressed, clean, professional appearance
Education/Certification/Screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certifications in AJP, RJ, GG, CA a plus but not required
- Credit check and background screening required
Pay and Benefits
• $18-$30/hour starting plus commission with potential to earn six figures
• Healthcare (50% of employee cost paid by employer)
• 401k eligible after 90 days with up to 3% of salary match
