Position: Economic Development Coordinator
Job Description:
Raleigh Economic Development (RED), in partnership with the City of Raleigh, is the lead agency for economic development supporting job creation and capital investment in Raleigh, NC. RED is a program of the Raleigh Chamber and is supported by Wake County Economic Development (WCED). RED exists to raise awareness that Raleigh is the premier locale for jobs, business, talent, and innovation. Raleigh Economic Development is committed to helping businesses thrive within Raleigh, and offers support in the areas of recruitment, retention, and expansion to help them grow and prosper. The Economic Development Coordinator reports to the Director of Raleigh Economic Development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director with existing industry outreach and tracking of existing industry engagement.
- Coordinate meetings on behalf of the Director with various stakeholders and existing companies.
- Represent RED at various industry related events.
- Perform technical Assistance as needed.
- Support the Director with tracking technical assistance engagements with the business community.
- Collect data for quarterly and annual reporting, monthly newsletters and WCED reports.
- Maintain RED?s sites and buildings database.
- Support the Director with multiple economic development projects throughout the decision-making process.
- Complete RFPs and RFIs from state and local partners and direct inquiries from companies, developers, brokers and consultants.
- Track active projects and prospect inquiries from companies, brokers and consultants.
- Coordinate the site-location search process with local, regional and state economic development partners including private sector partners.
- Support in the development of project presentations and materials.
- Assist in the identification and development of new sites and facilities to support strategic target sectors in coordination with the WCED Site Assessment Program (SAP).
- Support the Director in the identification and execution of strategic initiatives such as: target sector development, workforce, sustainability and existing industry.

- Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 year degree in economics, business administration, public relations, planning or related field.
- Other Information:
- Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- This is a hybrid position with 3 days per week in office.
- Travel is required for errands, meetings and to event located within Wake County and RTP.
