I'm seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to join a client's dynamic team. The Lead Civil Engineer will collaborate closely with their Engineering and Estimating teams, contributing to Business Development and Operations functions by designing civil plans and evaluating third-party designs for solar PV systems. This role will be pivotal in facilitating the acquisition of new business opportunities and ensuring the successful execution of projects within specified budgetary parameters. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to standard engineering practices and principles throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review design documents for solar civil design, encompassing necessary calculations, drawings, and civil specifications.
- Interpret and apply relevant building and land use codes and standards.
- Analyze diverse data sets including reports, maps, drawings, and soil composition to assess project site conditions thoroughly.
- Integrate cost and technical requirements to optimize site work and foundation design solutions.
- Conduct on-site visits to support site evaluation, suitability assessments, and due diligence efforts.
- Review and approve construction submittals and address project team and subcontractor inquiries.
- Facilitate client and third-party engineer meetings in support of our teams.
- Oversee the review of third-party design civil sets to ensure cost-effective approaches are employed.
- Communicate complex Civil, Geotechnical, and Structural engineering concepts internally and externally to support project risk analyses.
- Foster the growth and development of new civil and structural engineering capabilities within the team.
- Develop departmental engineering standard operating procedures and provide training for the engineering team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in civil design; experience in solar plant site layout or structural foundations design is advantageous.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS.
- Ability to engage in conceptual discussions of Renewable Solar Power Plants or Battery Storage Projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and mentor teams in a growth-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
