Beacon Hill has partnered with a pioneering property management firm to find an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join their team. This pivotal role will involve the management of employee relations and performance management for approximately 600 property management employees, including support teams. This role is integral to the firm and is a great opportunity for experienced HR professionals to work in Chicago's downtown Loop area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for property management teams on HR-related issues, providing expert guidance and escalating issues as needed.
- Offer coaching and counsel to managers and employees on a range of employee matters, identify issues, evaluate solutions, and recommend actions.
- Mediate and resolve employee disputes, conduct investigations, and propose resolutions.
- Handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
- Address performance issues proactively and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Prepare and manage documentation for unionized employees in compliance with progressive discipline policies, including warnings and separation letters.
- Guide managers through performance management processes and improvement plans for non-union employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by staying updated on legislation, enforcing requirements, and advising management on necessary actions.
- Support the annual review and succession planning processes for employees.
- Track employee leave and accommodation claims and manage relevant documentation.
- Ensure the accuracy and standardization of employee data, partnering with the Corporate HRIS team as necessary.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of HR experience, with a focus on employee relations.
- Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience working with multi-site based teams
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with state-specific laws regarding payroll, leave, wages, and hours, in IL.
