The newly created role of VP of Finance reports to the CFO. This individual will play a critical role in the strategic growth and financial management of the company. The successful candidate possesses strong strategic thinking abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the financial operations of a property and casualty insurance industry - especially in personal lines. We're looking for a critical thinker and action taker, someone who can drive innovations and profits.
This role will require boots on the ground near Salt Lake City, Utah with no opportunity to work remotely.
Highlights of responsibilities:
1. Will oversee all financial activities, including financial planning and analysis and financial reporting.
2. Will implement financial strategies to support the company's objectives and ensure long-term financial stability.
3. Will drive growth, innovate processes, and enhance controls related to the Enterprise Risk Management efforts. Will be an integral part of the Critical Thought Leadership Team. Will help motivate other stakeholders as to importance of risk evaluation and mitigation through education and explanation.
4. Will influence corporate direction, solve complex challenges, and build relationships to ensure operational excellence and goal delivery.
5. Provide oversight on financial system transformations/implementations, internal controls & process improvements: Will provide hands-on expertise using tools such as FP&A, data analytics, modeling, and financial system transformations, driving efficiencies and bottom-line impact.
6. Will design and oversee implementation of internal control processes within systems including policy, billing, and claims
7. Will bring a strong aptitude for understanding and manipulating data and systems company-wide. Will utilize data analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
To Qualify:
• MBA or CPA certification is preferred. Four-year degree is required. Public Accounting would be a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles within the property and casualty insurance industry, personal lines preferred.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both senior management and team members.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
