Director of Auto Physical Damage at GoAuto Insurance Co

GoAuto Insurance Co, a leader in the Non-Standard Personal Automobile Industry, is looking for a Director of Auto Physical Damage to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of overseeing the processing and management of vehicle damage claims, ensuring exceptional service and operational efficiency.
Location: Baton Rouge, LA (In-office position)
About the Role: As the Director of Auto Physical Damage, you will be responsible for ensuring that auto physical damage claims are handled efficiently and in accordance with industry standards and company policies. You will manage a team, develop policies, and work closely with vendors and other departments to deliver outstanding service and results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Oversight: Oversee the processing of auto physical damage claims, from assessing vehicle damage to coordinating repairs and determining claim payouts.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures for handling physical damage claims, aligning with company standards and industry regulations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of managers, adjusters, appraisers, and other staff involved in the claims process. Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Customer Service: Address complex or escalated claims issues to ensure fair and timely resolution. Enhance customer satisfaction through effective communication and service, including responding to Department of Insurance complaints across all states.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with auto repair shops, independent appraisal services, CCC, Copart, and other vendors. Ensure vendors meet quality standards and comply with company policies.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure claims processing complies with legal requirements, industry standards, and company policies. Conduct regular audits and reviews to maintain high standards.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze claims data to identify trends, assess performance, and develop strategies for process improvement. Prepare and present reports to senior management on claims activities and outcomes.
- Budget Management: Oversee the budget for the physical damage claims department, focusing on cost control and effective resource allocation.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance claims processes to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and elevate service quality.
- Collaboration: Work with underwriting, legal, and customer service departments to ensure a coordinated approach to claims and customer needs.
- Cell Phone Management: Oversee cell phone and jetpack assignments, work with Verizon for optimal rates, and approve monthly billing.
- Fleet Vehicle Management: Manage fleet vehicle servicing, fuel charges, insurance, registration, and replacement. Authorize service and repair orders through Fuelman and payment of bi-monthly invoices.
- CCC Management: Request and manage employee access to the CCC Portal, determine the value of CCC options for GoAuto, and authorize monthly CCC bill payments. Collaborate with Copart on assignments, valuations, and estimates, and review quarterly results.
- Subscription Management: Ensure NADA and KBB subscriptions are current and up-to-date.
- Property Tax and Billing: Authorize payments for Dallas Copart property taxes, Monroney Label invoices, and Control Expert billing.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in managing auto physical damage claims, including developing and implementing policies.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in supervising and developing a team.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies related to auto physical damage claims.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on resolving complex issues.
- Experience in vendor management and budget oversight.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
