HR Generalist
Location: Seattle, Wa (3 days on-site)
Duration: 8/12/24 - 6/11/25
Pay Rate: $30/hr
Designs and administers human resources policies and procedures that cover two or more functional areas. Collects and analyzes HR data, and then makes recommendations to management. Oversees and establishes procedures for paperwork completion for functional area. Prepares internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Interaction with team/Day to Day:
Mixed – 95% work is done independently on their laptop, meetings/communication is done online. Not much in person interaction with team. Balance of one moment you could be working on simply policy/resource tasks, next minute you could be meeting with senior manager on performance management.

• Serve as an escalation point and mentor teammates by role modeling Leadership Principles
• Consult, coach, and develop leadership through decision making with empathy and high judgement; collaborating and actioning on talent management processes, people development and performance management, compensation, and employee relations issues.
• Foster and role model an environment of inclusion for all Builders.
• Advocate for Builders’ needs through end-to-end experiences that help Builders feel fully engaged in the work they do and valued for who they are.
• Exercise high-judgement, manage through ambiguity and serve as first point of escalation for other HR teammates and Builder concerns.
• Support Builder queries and situations with discretion and expertise, navigating policies and applying high judgement as necessary.
• Actively promote adoption of technology and self-service.
• Collaborate and influence multiple levels of the organization, ranging from Builders, senior leaders, and other HR professionals.
• Conduct complex workplace investigations with significant autonomy.
• Understand business goals as well as design and implement new approaches or procedures to effect continual improvements both in the business and on the HR team.

• Employee Relations/Investigations experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; effective communication with the ability to build relationships and influence across a wide set of process partners and business stakeholders

• Thrives in a high-pressure, high-volume, ambiguous environment and able to manage multiple simultaneous priorities

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee issues in Human Resources
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and influencing other HR professionals through informal leadership
• PHR/SHRM Certification
Years’ Experience: 5-7 years HR Generalist experience
Degrees/Certs: Nice to have Undergrad in HR Generalist
Disqualifiers red flags: Not a strategic role – will be working high pace and high frequencies rather than a strategy meeting.
