Senior Technical Accounting Manager
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Senior Technical Accounting Manager for a hybrid or remote opportunity, with a client based out of Richmond, VA.
The Senior Technical Accounting Manager will play an integral role in the Reporting and Technical Accounting group. Responsibilities include assisting with SEC and GAAP financial statements, reviewing and writing footnotes, documenting accounting policies and procedures and implementing and providing guidance on new accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and financial instruments.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP and other relevant standards.
- Review and analyze complex financial transactions and ensure accurate and timely accounting treatment.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures, ensuring they are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and ensure effective communication of changes to the finance team and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and address technical accounting issues.
- Support the preparation of financial reports for senior management and the board of directors.
- Provide technical training and support to finance and accounting staff.
- Monitor industry developments and emerging accounting trends to ensure the company remains compliant with evolving standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or MBA strong preferred
- Minimum 7+ years of accounting experience
- Strong Excel and systems skills
Skills:
- Excellent time management with great attention to detail
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
Salary & Benefits: $125-150k + 15% Bonus.
