Our biotechnology client in Montgomery County, Maryland seeks an experienced Vice President, Investor Relations to join their team. The successful candidate will report directly with the EVP & Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the executive team. This position will be responsible for developing, leading and executing strategic investor relations plans to effectively communicate the company’s value proposition and financial performance.
Location: Hybrid – three days a week in office – Gaithersburg, MD
Responsibilities:
- Lead the investor relations function by developing and executing comprehensive strategies, initiatives, and programs.
- Mentor and develop the investor relations team to align with this strategy.
- Manage and coordinate quarterly earnings calls and annual shareholder meetings.
- Organize and coordinate investor meetings, roadshows, and conferences, ensuring effective participation and clear communication of the company's investment value.
- Oversee the preparation and dissemination of quarterly earnings releases, investor presentations, annual reports, and other financial disclosures in line with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate investor outreach through conferences, company events, and non-deal roadshows.
- Establish and execute a shareholder targeting plan, handle inbound investor inquiries, and ensure timely and effective communication.
- Support sell-side analysts and develop strategies to attract new equity research coverage.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and external communications on corporate messaging.
- Update corporate presentations, quarterly earnings materials, and Q&A sessions.
- Manage the company’s investor relations website.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Science required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Over 20 years of professional experience, including at least 15 years in relevant financial fields such as investment banking, equity research, investor relations, consulting, corporate finance, or similar areas.
- Strong understanding of capital markets.
- Familiarity with SEC and disclosure requirements.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint.
- Professional, outgoing demeanor with high energy, a strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; enthusiastic, collaborative team player, and self-starter with a commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with positive results.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining strong relationships with analysts, shareholders, and institutional investors.
- Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively across departments and engage with cross-functional teams.
- A strong desire to continuously learn and contribute to a dynamic team within a successful, rapidly growing biotechnology company.
