Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced DMPK leader to build our capabilities in support of our small molecule portfolio in inflammation and oncology through IND and development. The candidate will have strategic and scientific oversight of our small molecule discovery and development portfolio and will manage the in vitro and in vivo PK, ADME and bioanalytical assays. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology and Translational to develop and implement studies vital to address key program DMPK issues and successfully advance research compounds into development. This leader will be responsible for designing and executing our DMPK strategy, experiments and interpreting data across the portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Build and lead the Nonclinical Development DMPK activities for the organization, including design, planning, execution, interpretation and reporting of scientific experiments supporting IND enabling activities.
- Partner with research organization on study design for early discovery stage programs
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for DMPK in inflammatory/autoimmune disease and oncology programs.
- Provide scientific DMPK leadership and strategic direction to project teams
- Offer scientific supervision for PK/ADME studies conducted at CROs
- Contribute to and influence the DMPK components in the screening funnel and criteria for compound selection and advancement of research programs into development.
- Implement/manage quantitative bioanalysis of plasma and other biological matrices to support pharmacokinetic, toxicokinetics, and in vitro ADME analyses of novel small molecule therapeutics
- Conduct PK and PK/PD modeling using non-compartmental and compartmental models
- Responsible for reviewing BA and TK reports from nGLP and GLP tox studies
- Organize and manage data
- Present data at project team meetings
- Guarantee the prompt completion and review of high-quality DMPK reports
- Contribute to nonclinical PK/ADME sections in regulatory documents (e.g., IB, IND, etc…)
- Contribute to the nonclinical sections of regulatory filings.
- Actively participate on program teams as a key representative of nonclinical sciences.
Qualifications:
- PhD and 8+ years of industry experience in DMPK supporting programs transitioning into development. Candidates with other degrees and significant industry experience will be considered.
- Expertise in monitoring, managing and translating studies across discovery and development.
- Experience with small molecule drug development, including modelling of dose projections.
- Strong scientific leadership, creativity, problem-solving abilities and a track record of managing external partners.
- Experience with development of Immunology therapeutics and/or prodrugs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, writing, coaching skills.
Further Information:
Salary range: $200,000 - $260,000
