One of our top clients is hiring a Manager, Human Resources who can lead the department! This role will be located 100% onsite in San Francisco. This is not a hybrid or remote position. The core work hours will be 6am-3pm.
The ideal person will deliver HR best practices, serve as an advisor to company leaders on people management matters, regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement of HR policies, practices and procedures.
SUMMARY
You will be responsible for full cycle recruiting, administering benefits, leaves, worker’s compensation, safety administration, onboarding, employee and labor relations, performance management and enforcing company policies and practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensures that all human resources policies, procedures, and reporting requirements comply with Federal, State and local laws/ Ordinances.
2. Maintains knowledge of current applicable state and federal wage/hour laws affecting human resources functions.
3. Ensure that all required training is completed and documented, such as EEO, safety, and ethics & compliance.
4. Recruits and interviews candidates for vacant openings.
5. Plans and conducts new employee orientations and onboarding process to foster positive attitude toward the company goals.
6. Responds to benefit questions and assists employees with information regarding benefit plans.
7. Handles employee relations as well as union related matters.
8. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
9. Manages the company’s Safety Program including facilitating monthly safety training offerings and chairing the Safety Committee.
10. Maintains a written record of all complaints & accidents and conducts investigation and necessary root cause analysis and reporting.
11. Maintains all employee personnel files, medical files, I-9’s, ACA, etc.
12. Approves timecards, processes payroll, and performs reconciliation of payroll related deductions and benefits in collaboration with finance.
13. Schedules and tracks vacation, floating holidays, and sick leaves.
14. Handles employee leaves of absence and compiles paperwork. Meets with employees to explain rights & expectations.
15. Handles workers compensation claims.
16. Prepares employee off boarding paperwork and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
17. Completes various reports, e.g., OSHA 300, attendance report, pension hours, and responds to governmental inquiries.
18. Develops successful internal/external business partnerships, e.g., working with staffing agencies.
Experience / Abilities:
- 3-5 years of experience in a progressive Human Resources role
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
- PHR/SPHR certificate or equivalent preferred
- Strong English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work overtime and weekends, when required
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of CA law (employment, leaves of absence) and labor law
- Ability to act with integrity, empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality
Salary range: $95-120k, plus bonus
Employer paid healthcare and dental insurance
Profit sharing after two years of up to 20% of base salary
