Russell Tobin is seeking a Quality Systems Manager for a client who is a leader in the production of raw materials processing! This position is located in Reno, Nevada, and is a direct-hire opportunity!
Shift:1st 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
Compensation: $110,000-$125,000/year
Job Description: Manage and Maintain the Quality systems for the DE, Clay, and Perlite business unit to help meet the performance objectives and goals of the business.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain the quality specifications for customer agreements and correct translation into the ERP to be used by the operations to make product.
- Manage the customer complaint system and work with plants to deliver a timely, professional, and effective complaint response to prevent issue recurrence.
- Address the quality system questions on customers’ questionnaires
- Assist with critical customer audits across the ISO Certified plants
- Administer and maintain the ISO 9001 certifications in the DE, Clay, and Perlite plants.
- Coach and Train EP employees on ISO 9001 and auditing
- Administer the Document control systems for effective use.
- Facilitate the accuracy verifications of Corporate Analytical procedures through periodic gauge RR studies
- Manage the creation, qualification, distribution, and release of internal calibration standards and their certificates of analysis.
- Organize the internal audit program across the network by scheduling audits, facilitating audit execution, and reviewing and assisting in effective CAPA resolutions.
- Understand, document, and maintain QMS processes.
- Facilitate the MOC process
- Act as a technical lab resource to corporate lab supervisor for compliant operations of the corporate lab, equipment, and processes
- Facilitate the writing, validating, and distribution for approvals of all corporate test procedures for equipment used across the business.
- Act as the corporate Food Safety Officer
- Maintain all FDA food registrations for applicable sites.
- Mentor Plants Quality managers in maintaining complaint Food Safety and Haccp programs.
- Execute or facilitate internal auditing of food safety systems as part of our ISO Audits
- Assist in the implementation of new regulatory requirements.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- 5-10 years of experience administering ISO:9001 programing.
- Experience as food safety officer or ability to act as food safety officer for HACCP and Food Safety systems.
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills with excellent technical writing skills
- 5-years of experience with direct oversight of a lab, equipment, and procedure management
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
- Experience with applying Root Cause analysis, capability analysis, and Gauge RR studies.
- Experience leading direct customer audits
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues.
- Certified ISO Auditor or ability to achieve this within the first year
- Organized and detail oriented
- Process focused and can do attitude
- Ability to travel up to 15%
- Proficient in using MS word, and Excel and Access to store, process, analyze and report data.
- Strong computer skills in excel, data base, and statistical programs
- Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at once
