POSITION OVERVIEW: We are looking for a Security Administrator to join our IT team and help us protect our network and data from external and internal threats. You will be responsible for configuration of our security controls in accordance with our security policies and procedures. You will also assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of security tools and systems.
In this role, you will translate an organization’s risk and compliance requirements into technical implementation. You’re responsible for implementing and managing solutions for content classification, data loss prevention (DLP), information protection, data lifecycle management, records management, privacy, risk, and compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze and investigate security logs and alerts using various tools and techniques.
- Respond to and escalate security incidents according to established procedures.
- Implement and enforce security policies and standards across the organization.
- Perform regular vulnerability scans and audits to identify and remediate security configuration issues.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of security hardware and software.
- Assist in the development of network policies, security standards and authorization roles for users to adhere to in defense against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
- Configures and provides technical support for security tools, such as web filtering and anti-virus/EDR software.
- Research and stay updated on the latest security trends and best practices.
- Implementing and maintaining security measures in M365 to safeguard data and applications.
- Attends training and networking events to stay current on security related topics, industry standards, best practices, legislative updates, and laws.
- Monitor and investigate data and activities by using Microsoft Purview
- Provide security awareness and training to staff and users.
As a security administrator, you will plan and implement risk and compliance controls in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal and other security tools as appropriate.
You will work with other roles that are responsible for governance, data, and security to evaluate and develop policies to address an organization’s risk reduction and compliance goals. You assist workload administrators, business application owners, human resources departments, and legal stakeholders to implement technology solutions that support the necessary policies and controls.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
- One year of experience in security administration or a similar role.
- Knowledge of security principles, frameworks, and standards, such as NIST, ISO, and CIS.
- Knowledge of security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, antivirus, encryption, SIEM, and IDS/IPS.
- Experience with implementing DLP and Records Management tools.
- Experience with information protection activities within Microsoft Purview.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 services, including (Microsoft 365 Apps, Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Teams).

- Repetitive movement of hands and fingers-typing and/or writing
- Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading.
- Occasional standing and walking
