The Warehouse Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and executing an overall warehouse strategy that enables growth, enhances service, optimizes inventory levels and reduces waste as part of our focus on sustainability. This role involves supervising warehouse staff, maintaining safety standards, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods. The ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills and organizational abilities. This client will offer relocation assistance for the right candidate.
Hours: Monday thru Friday- 8:00AM to 5:00PM (approx.)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage three warehouses/distribution facilities; would be onsite in Stoughton 80-90% of the year. Minimal travel to the alternate local facilities.
- Responsible for inventory management, including accuracy, losses, damages and overall quality control.
- Responsible for establishing, tracking, reporting, and meeting key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with customer service and other functions to proactively identify and resolve key customer issues.
- Ensure warehouse and distribution facilities operate at peak efficiency – customer satisfaction and employee safety are the primary goals.
- Supervise, organize, develop and train warehouse team members to establish a trust but verify environment while managing short and long-term performance goals.
- Develop warehouse operations systems to determine product handling and storage requirements, efficient layouts, equipment optimization, inventory management, gate processes, and shipping methods.
- Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.
- Partner with the Plant Manager on various tasks and goals throughout each day
- Report to the Vice President of Supply Chain; and work alongside the Supply Chain Management team.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or business management preferred
- 5-7 years of warehouse management within food grade distribution
- Proven ability to coach and develop people
- Effective goal setting, motivation and conflict management
- Proven ability to lead change management process
- Demonstrates a safety-first mindset
- Continuous improvement methodology with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience in process management & improvements, leading teams to complete projects
- Familiarity with Oracle or alternate WMS as well as JD Edwards or alternate ERP systems
- Good data analysis skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills with a high level or resiliency
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and has a strong focus on cross functional collaboration
- Able to travel occasionally to alternate locations (local - up to 20% travel)
