Job Overview:
This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes (other than payroll). This role will involve managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, and talent management. The HR Manager will ensure that HR strategies align with overall business objectives to foster a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
Recruitment and Staffing:
- Manage the recruitment and selection process.
- Develop and maintain a robust talent acquisition strategy to attract and retain top talent.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Employee Relations and Performance Management:
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Maintain pay plan and benefits program.
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
Training and Development:
- Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals, and consultation with line managers.
- Develop training and development programs and objectives.
- Implement and monitor training programs to ensure they are effective.
Compliance and Legal:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
HR Administration:
- Maintain HR records and reports.
- Handle workplace investigations, disciplinary, and termination procedures.
- Oversee the management of HR systems and data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage payroll and benefits administration.
Leadership and Culture:
- Foster a positive working environment.
- Promote corporate values and shape a positive culture.
- Act as a point of contact for the HR team and provide coaching and mentoring to HR staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven working experience in HR field for more than 10 years.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and human resources software.
- Knowledge and expertise about the payroll process is a plus.
- Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking.
- Leadership and coaching skills.
- Strong empathy and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Confidentiality and discretion since they work with sensitive employee data.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.
Office Location:
- Torrance, CA
- Tuesdays and Thursdays in office
Compensation:
- For California based hires:
- Estimated annual salary range from $90,000 to $120,000.
