Position: Autonomous Race Engineer – Focus on Vehicle Controls and Motion Planning
Code19 Racing is preparing for the inaugural A2RL series and actively recruiting an Autonomous Race Engineer with expertise in vehicle controls, motion planning, and path optimization. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing robust control algorithms and advanced motion planning strategies, enabling our autonomous vehicles to compete at high speeds with precision. You’ll work closely with our diverse driver team, developing and refining the autonomous systems that power our race cars.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize control systems for autonomous race vehicles, focusing on precision, safety, and performance in high-speed environments.
- Develop motion planning algorithms to navigate dynamic racing scenarios while avoiding obstacles and maximizing performance on the track.
- Integrate perception, localization, and control systems using LiDAR, GNSS, Radar, and Optical sensors for real-time decision-making and path optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the performance of AI algorithms and vehicle dynamics.
- Test and validate autonomous systems through simulation and real-world racing scenarios.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Expertise in vehicle control systems, motion planning, and path optimization for autonomous driving.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++, with hands-on experience in ROS2 (Robot Operating System).
- Solid understanding of simulation environments and tools used in racing and autonomous systems development.
- Experience with CI/CD, version control, Docker, and containerization.
- Prior involvement in motorsports, autonomous vehicles, or related high-performance automotive projects.
- Strong passion for AI, autonomous systems, and the future of racing technology.
