Our client, a top financial institution with offices in NYC, is seeking a hybrid/on-site/remote 33/34 Act Attorney.
- The position will be 6 months, at least through the end of calendar 2024, possibly longer.
- The position is generally 40 hours per week. Onsite/hybrid preferred but will consider other arrangements depending on candidate.
- Hours will be from 9 am to 5 pm, overtime if needed.
Specifications:
- JD from an accredited law school required, member in good standing with the NY State Bar Association
- At least 7-8 years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm, in-house at an alternative investment manager/adviser (preferably within a bank or bank-affiliated entity in the United States) and/or at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
- Fluent in the 40 Act and Advisers Act; deep understanding of 33 and 34 Acts and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Has experience with private fund structures and laws and regulations governing private funds and managers
- Comfortable with complex, multijurisdictional issues
- Client management skills
- Pragmatic, risk-based decision-making

Responsibilities:
- Advise on 40 Act issues applicable to strategic initiatives, including adviser and fund structures
- Conduct statutory and regulatory analysis, and apply legal expertise to guide decision-making
- Provide legal advice and support with respect to the build-out of the alternative asset management business, including the reactivation of Advisers Act registration and compliance framework
