Job Purpose and Scope
The Store Planner is responsible for creating accurate Interior store layouts, detailed development plans, and overseeing production drawings. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution from initial planning through construction. The Store Planner will also participate in the development of store planning standards and occasionally travel to project sites to gather necessary data. With a focus on precision and teamwork, this position requires strong technical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Essential Job Functions
- Utilize MicroStation CAD software to create block and space plans for initial upper management approval, including new stores, remodels, and acquisitions.
- Collaborate with architectural and engineering firms to coordinate building shell changes and project specifications.
- Develop and draw plans that can be used for pricing purposes once block and space plans are approved.
- Use new and existing architectural/engineering drawing packages to note up pricing plans per existing conditions.
- Work with electrical engineers, POS/system personnel, merchandisers, designers, and store personnel to gather necessary information for pricing plans.
- Collaborate with CAD production teams to execute final drawing packages, including plans, 1/4” sheets, elevations, sections, and details, after pricing plans are approved.
- Review all drawings with design team personnel and sometimes merchandisers.
- Conduct final reviews of drawing packages before issuance and sign off on transmittals.
- Be available to answer questions and work through problems with general contractors once construction starts on projects.
- Coordinate with field supervisors to supply any information needed until project opening.
- Oversee and check off on any revisions issued by CAD production teams during construction.
- Occasionally travel to sites of acquired buildings and existing stores to gather all needed data to create accurate store planning drawings.
- Participate in the development of store planning standards and guidelines, including customer service and back office areas.
- Enter new projects into project tracking software (Monday).

Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in store planning, architectural drafting, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with MicroStation CAD software is preferred.
