Remote (Mississippi), primarily serving the Tupelo, Oxford, Jackson, and Gulfport areas.
Pay: $100/hr - $130/hr

As a rapidly growing company in the forensic and structural engineering fields, our client is seeking highly motivated Professional Engineers, with a preference for those with a structural engineering background, to join our Forensic Engineering team in Mississippi.
Job Overview
As a Civil Structural Engineer, you will manage forensic engineering assignments, conduct investigations and evaluations, and provide findings to clients, including attorneys, insurance carriers, property managers, associations, and risk managers. You will need to understand the technical aspects of structural engineering and construction and be able to articulate these concepts clearly in forensic reports.
Key Responsibilities
• Structural System Analysis: Possess a working knowledge of structural systems, including low-rise and high-rise structures, as well as foundation design, analysis, and construction.
• Calculations and Modeling: Perform structural calculations by hand or using spreadsheets as warranted to support findings, and create and utilize structural models using proprietary analysis software when necessary.
• Research and Compliance: Research design manuals, local and state building codes and ordinances, and communicate findings clearly.
• Inspections and Investigations: Perform inspections of single-family residences and commercial buildings, including exterior facades, crawlspaces, attics, and roofs, and conduct investigations to determine the cause and origin of structural collapses, failures, damages, and defects due to a wide range of perils.
• Report Preparation: Prepare forensic investigation reports, following the guidance of the Engineer of Record.
• Project Deadlines: Must be able to meet short project deadlines when necessary.
Requirements
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience: 5 - 8 years of experience in Structural and/or Forensic Engineering.
• Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Mississippi (Required).
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of structural systems and foundation design, analysis, and construction.
• Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate advanced technical concepts in writing.
• Independence: Capable of working under minimal supervision and resolving issues independently based on project requirements.
• Teamwork: Must have a Team Player mentality with the ability to work on large projects with multiple team members.
• Organization: Maintain strong organizational skills, updated notes, and comply with timeline requirements.
• Learning: Ability to learn independently and maintain a desire to improve your craft.
