Nicoletti Hornig & Sweeney is looking to add associate attorneys with 3-7 years of experience to its Lower Manhattan office. The firm’s main practice areas include maritime and admiralty law, construction law, general liability, and insurance coverage.
The firm is seeking an associate who will be responsible for handling all aspects of pre-trial litigation in New York state and federal courts. They will be generally responsible for developing the cases, analyzing risk, and working toward resolution. They will be expected to be able to handle, among other tasks: pleadings and discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing motions and appeals; communicating with clients; communicating with opposing counsel; and communicating with experts.
The associate must have strong organizational, research, and writing skills, and be able to independently handle a high level of responsibility.
Trial experience is a plus. The firm aims to have associates gain trial experience on their cases.
Associates are expected to bill a minimum of 1900 hours per year.
Candidates must be admitted in New York State. Additional admissions are a plus.
The firm presently requires attorneys and staff to be present in the office 4 days per week, either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday.
