Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions has partnered with a client in the Beaver Dam, WI area who is looking for a dynamic Manufacturing Manager who will lead lean implementation across the entire plant. This is not just a role for a lean practitioner, but for a Lean Champion—someone who can drive cultural change, optimize production processes, and elevate the plant’s performance to new heights. Reporting directly to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the lean transformation across the entire plant, identifying and executing on low-hanging fruit to deliver immediate and long-term improvements.
- Act as an on-the-floor leader, engaging directly with the production team to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Oversee the production and manufacturing operations, managing 3 direct supervisor reports and up to 30 indirect reports.
- Collaborate closely with the GM to relieve some of his duties, taking on P&L responsibilities and helping to drive the overall success of the plant.
- Support the growth of the division, leveraging new equipment to expand capabilities and efficiency.
- Engage with the broader manufacturing team to optimize machine operations, regardless of specific machine type, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Manage first and second shift supervisors to ensure alignment with lean initiatives and production goals.
- Prepare for a potential future transition into the GM role, working closely with the current GM to understand all aspects of the business.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of strong experience in lean manufacturing, with a proven track record of implementing lean principles across an entire plant.
- Machine shop experience is preferred, though not required—strong lean experience is the priority.
- Must be a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic, manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing direct and indirect reports, with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
- P&L management experience or familiarity with financial aspects of manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards MRP system is a plus.
- Metals background and/or union experience is preferred, but not required.
- Engineering background is a plus, but not required.
