Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Complete part designs for new product introductions or modifications to existing products. Develop comprehensive design plans, project schedules, and evaluation plans to ensure successful project execution.
- Data Analysis & Tool Development: Create and maintain data analysis tools to enhance the efficiency of the thermal systems team, with a specific focus on Excel macro development. Support the quality organization by analyzing factory test lab data and identifying root causes of issues.
- Algorithm Development: Develop and improve control algorithms for bottom freezer platforms, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Simulations & Modeling: Perform calculations, simulations, and modeling using advanced refrigeration simulation software and online roadmap tools to enhance existing systems and streamline future development cycles. Develop and write codes and scripts to continuously improve these tools.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and verification of products to ensure they meet conformance specifications. Analyze and interpret test data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to product design, manufacturing, or field quality for bottom freezer products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience within the appliance industry, with at least 2 years focused on refrigeration technology.
- Advanced computer skills, with high proficiency in Microsoft products and a strong understanding of Excel Visual Basic.
- Experience with advanced refrigeration simulation software.
- Strong project management and analytical/problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to generate and implement solutions.
- Self-starting leader with excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer programming languages such as C or Python.
- Experience with thermal systems and algorithm development.
- Proficiency in Creo CAD software.
- Ability to travel to refrigeration production facilities and suppliers (up to 20% during builds).
