Civil Engineer (EIT or PE) – Houston, TX
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer with an EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or PE (Professional Engineer) certification to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in land development, TX DOT (Texas Department of Transportation), transportation, and commercial and residential projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage civil engineering projects including land development, transportation, commercial, and residential projects.
- Develop engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
- Perform site inspections and oversee construction to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges and provide innovative solutions.
- Prepare and review technical reports, plans, and other documentation required for project approval.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, codes, and standards, particularly TX DOT guidelines and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- EIT certification required; PE license preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development, transportation, commercial, and residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
- Familiarity with TX DOT standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
