Job Summary
NPI is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of desktop and laptop computers, and resolving any technical issues that arise. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a customer-service oriented approach.
Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide timely and efficient technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with desktop and laptop computers, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to address technical issues and improve overall IT service delivery.
- Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- User Assistance: Assist users with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Provide guidance on software usage and best practices.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on computer systems and networks, including software updates, patches, and backups.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Asset Management: Keep track of IT assets, including hardware and software inventory, and ensure they are properly managed and maintained.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems.
- Intermediate proficiency in desktop support operations and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and other common software applications.
- Experience with remote desktop tools and helpdesk ticketing systems.
- Active directory and Group policy knowledge.
- Experience running network cables, installing wall jacks, and installing switches/routers.
- Skilled in diagnosing, repairing, upgrading user hardware.
- CompTIA A+ Certification

Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- Degree from a 2 or 4-year accredited university preferred
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed
- May require occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance or emergencies
- Must have valid WA state driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
Hourly Range: $29.00 - $34.00
