Job Description
The Contract Onsite IT Technician provides customer focused personal computing support for all hardware and software products for local users or users visiting their respective plant location. This position provides “Boots on the Ground” support for Infrastructure and Cyber Initiatives. This position reports directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager and collaborates with the Regional Infrastructure team. This position supports the site needs, works in close collaboration with site management and is supported by the St. Louis based Infrastructure and Service Desk team members.This position must be able to understand and problem-solve in complex situations using a wide variety of internal and external resources.
The Contractor Onsite IT Technician will be responsible for the implementation and operation of local IT solutions on a functional level, as well as maintenance of the existing local environment. This position assists the implementation of IT Infrastructure and Cyber projects and optimizes the working environment for the users.
Skills Necessary
- Microsoft Client/Server operational systems and applications
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 (required)
- Experience supporting desktop PCs, laptops, and printers
- Service Ticketing System Experience (required)
- BMC Remedy Experience (preferred)
- Networking experience, including wireless networks (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work alone and as part of a team (required)
Key Responsibilities
- Support and Maintenance of the existing local server, storage, client and network environment
- Supporting service requests and trouble-shooting within the 1st and 2nd level support
- Troubleshoot and solve problems with desktop PCs, laptops, and printers.
- Maintain documentation and procedural changes to local Infrastructure environment.
- Local “Boots on the Ground” service to aid in Infrastructure and Cyber installations, operations and maintenance processes and procedures
Education and experience
- 2-year technical degree or professional certification is preferred (minimum H.S. diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of general IT operational experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with working in international and distributed IT environments (desired)
- Working experience with Microsoft and Citrix technologies and products
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 (required)
- Service Ticketing System Experience (required)
- BMC Remedy Experience (preferred)
