The Construction Manager is responsible for mobilizing and overseeing the construction phase of the project or program to ensure its success by adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The CM is tasked with ensuring adherence to project drawings and specifications, technical requirements, product and project quality standards, project schedules, 3-week look ahead plans, and project-specific safety goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management Degree, or equivalent level of related experience preferred.
- (8) years of related construction or project management experience, including three years of supervisory management responsibilities.
- Knowledge in new renewable/alternative energy power projects preferred.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Project/Construction management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Responsibilities:
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and ensure that external third parties (subcontractors, consultants) operate according to HSE standards.
- Actively participate in the safety program and achieve safety goals of zero accidents.
- Align on the project charter with the customer at the project kickoff meeting.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with project safety, quality, and performance goals.
- Organize the integrated site team to supervise contractor’s construction progress and quality of the work, including commissioning until COD (i.e., inspection witnessing, clearing punch list items, issuing mechanical completion certificates, turnover packages readiness).
- Manage the construction process and implement necessary procedures and tools to ensure compliance with Safety Golden Rules.
- Ensure work is on schedule, activities start/finish on time, and major milestones are achieved per plan.
- Manage site documentation, man-hour compilation, and schedule acceleration.
- Maintain continuous accountability of project data, including completed work, performance data/reports, installed components, etc.
- Provide inspections of various disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical) during construction, evaluating workmanship and compliance with construction contract documents. Summarize and present site findings to project stakeholders.
- Record construction progress through visual and written audits to ensure compliance with customer and contract requirements.
- Inspect project for compliance with Mechanical Completion, Substantial Completion, and Final Completion milestones.
- Validate construction progress through review of daily reports, photographs, and look-ahead schedules.
- Confirm site design documentation accurately reflects field changes (as-builts).
- Provide technical input related to contract drawings and documents.
- Lead daily and weekly contractor meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental laws, policies, and regulations governing the work at the job site and on the project.
- Advise on field corrections to expedite the schedule, minimize costs, and identify value engineering opportunities in alignment with Project PM.
- Ensure contractors comply with all environmental and land use permit conditions.
- Review environmental scope and audit construction activities.
- Maintain project schedules and keep management informed of any potential changes.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the community and with stakeholders.
