Key Responsibilities:
- The Turbomachinery and Heat Exchanger Analysis and Design group within the Mechanical Systems and Components (MS&C) directorate is responsible for the design, development, and analysis of Environmental Control System (ECS) turbomachinery and heat exchangers, as well as electric traction drive motors.
- The successful applicant will be responsible for stress, vibration, and heat transfer analyses.
- Responsibilities include providing technical expertise on a variety of projects and programs.
- You will use your expert knowledge of engineering discipline and standards, processes, and tools to ensure compliance to customer and program requirements.
- Other responsibilities include communicating with Project engineering teams, conduction of design reviews, presentations to internal and external customers and contributing to department process improvement initiatives.
- Design and analysis using complex finite element methods.
- Provide technical oversight to global engineering teams across time zones.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Required Keywords:(TURBOPROP OR PROPELLER OR TURBOFAN OR “GAS TURBINE” OR “TURBINE ENGINE” OR AIRCRAFT OR SPACECRAFT OR AERO OR AVIATION OR AVIONICS OR AEROSPACE OR HONEYWELL OR BOEING OR GARMIN) AND (HARMONIC OR HCF OR LCF OR MODAL OR "CRACK GROWTH" OR SHOCK OR VIBRATION OR FATIGUE) AND (STRESS OR STRUCTURAL) AND (ANALYSIS OR FEA OR FEM).
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing structural analysis on gas turbine engines and/or other structural, load bearing components and systems
- Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elasto-plastic, fatigue (HCF & LCF), modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, & crack growth analyses
- Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software & classical hand calculation methods.
- Ability to mentor others
- Significant experience with new product development in a highly regulated environment
- Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems.
- Effectively operate in a matrix organization
- Track record of successful contribution to products & projects
- Keen mindset to envision process improvements and execution of such initiatives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
