Iridium is seeking an outgoing and dynamic Sales Engineer, to join our Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) division. As a Sales Engineer, you’ll be responsible for autonomously implementing ideas and solutions as you provide technical product introduction, support, and onboarding of new and existing customers. Working in this role, you’ll also have the responsibility of troubleshooting and applying innovative technical solutions with the team to overcome a wide range of customer challenges. What You’ll Do:
- Primary focus will be the Position, Navigation and Timing Division’s key product, STL (Satellite Time and Location).
- Work independently to onboard new partners and work with the sales channel to respond to technical questions from both existing and prospective customers
- Prepare, update, and deliver professional training materials to Iridium partners
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in troubleshooting partner designs and systems, including software/hardware integration and interactions between them
- Relay technical information from partners to both technical and non-technical stakeholders within Iridium in order to improve product offerings
- Improve and develop test tools to remove technical barriers to customer adoption and demonstrate, through example code, how partners can automate tests
- Investigate, document, and coordinate product issues with other departments to ensure problems are addressed quickly and partner impact is minimized
- Act as an escalation point for the Customer Support team in diagnosing and ultimately resolving client issues
- Review partner solutions as part of the Iridium certification program and provide guidance for prioritizing tests and interpreting results; provide feedback to partners
- Prepare, update, and maintain high quality technical documentation such as application notes
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering field
- 10+ years of relevant Engineering experience, including RF design
- Advanced knowledge of operating RF lab test equipment
- Microsoft Windows and Office skills, specifically with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
- Can easily build meaningful relationships with others, including senior leadership outside of your own department, and are comfortable providing constructive feedback to your colleagues and management
- Be able to analyze and understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions, come up with and evaluate unique solutions, and see those solutions through to completion. Be independent and self-motivated and demonstrate a high degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness
- Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
- Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
- Masters degree
- Experience with timing synchronization technology highly desired
- Fluency in other languages (no specific language needed, we are a global company)
We’ll also need you to:
- Be able to travel up to 10-15 weeks annually, some internationally
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
Work Environment:
This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
