As the Director of Sourcing & Production, you'll lead the charge in transforming our sourcing and production operations for the Legwear business. In this strategic leadership role, you’ll drive key initiatives, optimize product placement, and ensure flawless execution. Your expertise will be pivotal in analyzing vendor capabilities and aligning them with customer needs to deliver exceptional results. You’ll forge and nurture strong partnerships with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring that our sourcing and production processes are not only efficient and effective but also perfectly aligned with our ambitious business goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and refine sourcing strategies by integrating critical insights from factory and agent performance. Play a key role in crafting and executing allocation plans that drive optimal product execution, enhance cost-efficiency, and mitigate risks.
- Define clear goals for sourcing and production teams aligned with overall business objectives and market trends.
- Oversee cost analysis and negotiations with vendors to achieve our internal margin goals, ensuring we maintain competitive pricing without compromising quality. Ensure consistency across brands and different lines of business.
- Create milestone calendars and lead the team in meeting deadlines. Proactively identify potential issues and provide actionable solutions to ensure timely project completion.
- Forge and nurture robust relationships with both internal teams and external leaders to drive collaborative success.
- Evaluate sample execution for new or critical programs to ensure they meet our high aesthetic and quality standards, delivering products that align perfectly with our brand’s vision.
- Compile and analyze monthly shipping data, providing comprehensive reports to highlight year-over-year performance and operational metrics.
- Work closely with the QA and Compliance Team to address quality control issues and hold overseas vendors accountable to our standards.
- Act as the key liaison between the sourcing and production team with their cross-functional teams, ensuring swift resolution of vendor-related matters.
- Identify and implement best practices, tackle challenges with open orders, and drive immediate resolutions to enhance overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with other brand managers to streamline production processes and ensure visibility on performance metrics across cross-functional vendors, enhancing overall awareness and efficiency.
- Lead and inspire a team, fostering their growth and development through personalized mentoring and targeted training. Cultivate a high-performance culture by aligning individual talents with business goals, providing constructive feedback, and creating opportunities for career advancement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 10+ years in sourcing, product development, and production, preferably with socks/knitwear experience.
- Extensive expertise in comprehensive product management end-to-end, covering product development, production, and sourcing.
- Skilled in strategic sourcing, and production planning. Deep knowledge of global sourcing hubs, cultural business practices, and international travel experience.
- Advanced cost negotiation capabilities with a history of achieving or exceeding margin goals.
- Strong abilities in reporting and data analysis.
- Exceptional ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external partners. Excellent communicator with a collaborative approach to team interactions.
- Demonstrated expertise in optimizing processes and driving operational improvements, consistently achieving increased efficiency and effectiveness across operations.
- Skilled in breaking down complex problems, communicating findings, and implementing solutions.
- Extensive background in managing teams, focusing on aligning talents with business goals and fostering future leaders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with PLM and SAP is a plus.
- Ability to work in the office 2-3 days a week.
Annual salary starting of $145,000.
