We have an immediate need for an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer in the Santa Clara, CA area. This position will be with an engineering and system integration firm that provides life safety and mission critical automation and controls systems for the Hi-Tech Semiconductor and Life Science industries.

Base salary is estimated at $95K-$130K+, relevant to experience and license status.
Required:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- EIT with ability to obtain PE license in CA.
- Minimum (5) years of experience, or equivalent work experience and certifications that exemplify a desire for continuing education or advancement.
- Working knowledge of control systems architecture and networks required.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting control systems and an understanding of process controls required.
- Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with people of all levels including customers and contractors.
- Requires ability to create and edit AutoCAD drawings.
- Low Voltage Experience
- Ability to do general load calculations
Preferred:
- P.E License
- Knowledge of PLC and touch screen programming languages to program Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and other PLC’s.

- This position involves a variety of tasks and responsibilities that require leadership, collaboration, and independent work.
- Engineer shall be responsible for electrical engineering, automation and controls design and project management, as well as managing field installations, start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- This includes preparinglow voltage and power distribution plans, defining controls systems architecture and control loops, and developing detailed software design specifications.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with programmers to develop instrumentation and controls logic
- Read, analyze, and interpret project documents, instructions, proposals, specifications, and other relevant information to obtain a clear understanding of the project requirements. •
- Evaluate life safety and regulatory requirements including CA Fire Code, CA and National Electrical Code, NFPA and hazardous location requirements.
- Work with AutoCAD and Revit designers to develop monitoring and controls system layout, block diagrams and wiring schematic
- Specify equipment, toxic and flammable gas detectors, audible/visual alarms, instrumentation, process safety interlocks, PLCs and related automation equipment.
- Manage projects and customer relationships. Prepare proposals, define scope, deliverables, schedule and budget.
- Work successfully with OAC team to coordinate field installation, testing and inspections - focusing on customer service, problem solving and continuous improvement.
