Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Director to lead our team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) in the New England region. The Field Director will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, performance, and development of the MSL team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of MSLs to achieve high performance and professional growth.
- Set clear objectives and performance metrics for the MSL team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the MSL team in alignment with company goals.
- Identify and prioritize key therapeutic areas and stakeholders for engagement.
- Monitor industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate scientific exchange and ensure the dissemination of up-to-date medical information.
- Represent the company at scientific conferences, meetings, and other events.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams.
- Ensure alignment and effective communication between the MSL team and other departments.
- Participate in the development and review of medical and scientific content.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of MSL activities and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Monitor and manage the budget for the MSL team.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a scientific or medical field (PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within Medical Affairs or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel within the New England region as required.
