DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this role is to support, maintain, and develop concrete, clay, stone-coated metal, and stone-siding products along with their associated components. As a support role, working knowledge of all associated products and processes involved in making each product line is needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
May include, but is not limited to the following:
• Complies with HSE Company Policies and Programs
• Provides general to all the Laboratory Activities
• Utilizes the color matching x-rite spectrophotometer device as the primary tool.
• Identifies and mix correctly dry and wet color recipes handling the assigned device and software.
• Fabricate TBS bars for the daily tile strength test companywide, wood decks for permeability rain test, walkability roof mock, hail impact test decks.
• Coordinates submittals to the Color Roof Rating Council (CRRC) for evaluating and labeling the radiative properties of roofing and exterior wall products.
• Coordinates submittals to Intertek for initial reflectivity and emissivity readings.
• Communicates with third-party technicians for support on audit failures, and work with quality management to address audit failure correction actions.
• Follows up with the aging farm and ATI once the test is completed.
• Provides any other support that marketing requests.
• Makes a formula from scratch and safely use the Marshall hammer device, a concrete patty, and prisms.
• Navigates SAP per National Lab and quality department needs (requisitions, PO’s, party code, invoice approvals, etc.)
• Shares knowledge related to color and quality analysis techniques.
• Performs programming and sets up the National Lab test equipment (chambers)
• Performs preventive maintenance to all laboratory equipment.
• Supports the concrete and quality control department.
• Creates Power Point presentations to communicate project results.
• Performs internal quality audits as needed.
Job Description
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Highschool degree or equivalent work experience • Intermediate level knowledge on concrete, and clay. • Intermediate laboratory experience (X-rite, reflectometer, emittance, and chambers) • SAP experience. • Proficient with MS Office Programs. • Ability to solve complex problems. • Ability to deal with conflict.
REQUIRED ABILITIES
• Very good follow-up, time management and organization skills • Strong interpersonal skills • Ability to carry projects from start to finish with little or no supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 47 pounds.
ENVIRONMENT
Employees work in a manufacturing site setup. Dust and noise are part of the environment.
