Role Overview:
This role focuses on supporting an established client base that utilizes swaps, options, and futures for hedging metals and fuels price risks. As a business leader in this role, you'll leverage the latest software and services to grow this business line further. With a strong customer base and a dedicated sales team, you will be well-positioned to drive growth, especially as the company have recently invested in enhanced software solutions to tackle new challenges in commodity price risk management.
This position is ideal for someone with expertise in the metal industry looking to transition into a more commercial role with a focus on customer service and business expansion. This is a non-executive management role.
- Assist clients in hedging aluminum trades, including all aspects of recording, execution, and strategic planning.
- Advise potential clients on the price risks associated with industrial metals, fuels, and power.
- Demonstrate the use of software systems for recording and measuring procurement and price risks.
Required Market Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of the economic factors affecting aluminum and steel prices.
- Insight into supply chain risks and price volatility for the next 1-2 years.
- Expertise in mitigating risks through hedging and fixed-price negotiations.
- Proficiency in using hedging strategies and mid- to back-office systems for risk measurement and mitigation.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong communication and teaching skills, particularly in live settings with industrial consumers and producers.
- Ability to connect price risk with budgeting or procurement cost risks.
- Experience in procurement within a consulting or strategic role.
- Familiarity with inventory management, ERP, and CTRM systems for managing purchases, sales, and trading positions.
- Competence in tracking inventory costs and integrating commodity trading risk management systems with ERP.
The role is based in Houston. The compensation offered will be a full compensation going up to $200,000, 401(k) matching and equity within the business.
