The Packaging and Digital Graphic Designer is a talented, passionate, energetic, experienced individual that is eager to work directly with Jouer’s founder/ Creative Director and with our product development, sales and marketing teams. This position is key in creating dynamic packaging and marketing materials that are on brand and will engage clients through all retail and promotional platforms. The role is responsible for a range of tasks including everything from graphic designing customer facing digital assets and package design to production. This position is an instrumental part of the brand to help develop new and creative packaging and marketing materials for all Jouer product launches.
Responsibilities:
· Understand the Jouer Brand vision and deliver effective designs that continue to push the brand.
· Know the brand and propose new ideas, fonts, layouts that are innovative but are still core Jouer.
· Retouch, develop, and design digital marketing materials for product launches and promotions across email, SMS, ecommerce, retail, paid and organic social.
· Manage key vendors for additional creative development.
· Drive the execution of product branding, developing, and managing consistent product packaging across core products, line extensions, seasonal campaigns. and promotions.
· Partner with product development and marketing teams to achieve the highest level of quality for each project- understanding limitations due to timing, costs, etc.
· Actively participate in meetings or when necessary for decision-making responsibilities
· Produce digital illustrations (raster & vector) to be used on product components and packaging.
· Strategize, manage, and evolve our design guidelines for packaging systems, email, paid social, and digital website assets.
· Support design and maintenance of a wide array of unit cartons, palette, component designs, promotional marketing merch, PR box mailers, and POP.
· Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to develop and implement retailer visual merchandising displays.
· Proactively resize and format product, model, and lifestyle images for all retailer partners with each new launch or new account.
· Support Sales with creating e-tailer storefront layouts and promotional images.
- Manage multiple projects and remain flexible through multiple revisions while keeping a keen attention to detail and meeting important milestone deadlines.
- Stays current on industry trends, social sentiment, and competitors.
· Prep final files for production and work with production team on specifics such as Pantone matching, proofing, etc.
· Organize and maintain projects and digital archives.
· Research current beauty design trends and push team with creative, out of the box thinking.
· Work with production team to make mock-ups of products for presentations and reviews.
· Translate approved master creative compositions and layouts into various sizes and formats needed for products while maintaining the original creative intent and specs; effectively manage files and ensure accessibility for print specs.
· Drive the execution of product branding by developing and managing consistent product packaging codes across core products, line extensions, seasonal campaigns, and promotions.
· Attend press checks, approve print proofs on primary and secondary packaging elements.
· Manage project profiles deadlines and flow through Basecamp.
· Design and produce mechanicals for promotion PR Box mailers.
- Digital-first mindset, you will have a finger on the pulse of new visual trends and the competitive landscape to pull forward best-in-class visual ideas and solutions, with particular attention to Paid Media and Social creative.
- Ability to work on all aspects of digital design including email and ad design, quick comping, animated gifs, banner resizing, image searching, photo retouching, in addition to delivering a polished design solution.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail, you will be self-motivated and proactive.

Qualifications:
· 5+ years experience.
· B.A. or B.F.A. in Graphic Design
· Thrive in a fast-paced design environment.
· Experience within a creative environment across a variety of practices in design with a super concentration in package design; including collateral, pop, displays, print advertising, and digital.
· Demonstrate ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once under tight deadlines.
· Demonstrate ability to work as a team contributor, working closely with Marketing, Design and Product Development
· Extremely organized with excessive attention to detail, an outstanding communicator, and a solution-oriented problem solver by nature
· Resourceful and knowledgeable of Beauty / Fashion retail market trends and new packaging trends/technology.
· Excellent time management skills.
· Deep experience with mock-ups and digital renderings.
· Extensive knowledge of design software including Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, & Premiere Pro.
· Experience editing videos is preferred.
