Our client is an early-stage biotech company focusing on the discovery and development of novel medicines directly targeting RNA to treat human disease. They are an interdisciplinary team of scientists working at the forefront of machine learning and RNA biology to reach disease targets previously considered “undruggable” by leveraging the inherent biology embedded within RNA. The R&D Intern program provides students with real-life hands-on experience, mentoring, and networking opportunities in interdisciplinary fields. You will have the chance to meet professionals from various backgrounds, such as cellular and molecular biologists, biochemists, medicinal chemists and computational biologists. We are looking to recruit a part-time entry level candidate who will provide technical support, conduct tasks, and assist with experiments under close supervision. The ideal Laboratory Technician candidate will have experience in molecular and/or cellular biology.
Responsibilities:
Perform wet lab bench activities while following aseptic technique.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative biological assays under the supervision of project lead.
Support cell culture activities and experiments in multiple cell lines.
Consult with research project leaders to implement and optimize laboratory procedures.
Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment, including liquid handling robots and qPCR machines.
Document results and communicate scientific progress through written and verbal reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Highschool Diploma / A.A. degree required
Min 1 year work experience/higher education in Biology, Molecular Biology, and other Human Health related fields
Ability to work on-site in Brisbane California
Must have experience working in laboratory setting
Critical thinking, problem solving skills, and ability to work independently
Highly organized individual with attention to detail and a strong desire to learn
