Summary:
The Electrical Distribution Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical distribution systems to ensure reliable and efficient power delivery to our customers. Responsibilities include:
• Design and engineer electrical distribution systems, including overhead and underground lines, substations, transformers, switchgear, and associated equipment.
• Develop technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents for distribution projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, and ETAP for system modeling, analysis, and simulation.
• Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets for distribution projects, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
• Conduct load flow, voltage drop, and short circuit studies to analyze distribution system performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Evaluate equipment selection, sizing, and configuration to optimize system reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure that distribution designs and installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, such as NEC, NESC, and IEEE.
• Prepare and submit necessary documentation, permits, and approvals to regulatory agencies as required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure is highly desirable.
• 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on distribution system design and analysis.
• Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, ETAP, or similar.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve technical problems independently.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
