We are seeking a talented and motivated R&D Engineer with a strong background in extrusion. This role is crucial in driving process improvements and enhancing both new and existing products. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to conducting R&D product trials, performing root cause analysis, and developing innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement process improvements to enhance the performance and quality of new and existing products.
- Conduct comprehensive R&D product trials to validate new concepts and modifications.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Train new employees on updated and new processes to ensure seamless integration and operation.
- Research and source alternative materials and additives used in plastics manufacturing to support sustainability initiatives.
- Manage the stage gate process for new products, product extensions, and resin qualifications.
- Develop detailed testing plans, perform costing analysis, and provide thorough analysis and reporting of results.
- Lead and supervise the activities of the R&D technician to ensure project objectives are met.
- Utilize project management skills to oversee and execute various R&D projects efficiently.
- Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and transform them into actionable ideas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Material Science.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in plastics manufacturing, particularly in a similar R&D role.
- Proven experience in extrusion processes.
- Experience with materials such as LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, PET, mPE, EVA, PP, PHA, PLA, or similar.
- Experience with additives such as UV stabilizers, plasticizers, processing aids, antioxidants, colorants, or similar.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional analytical skills to handle large datasets and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to new methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and lead a team.
The compensation mentioned represents the maximum amount for the base salary, including the 15% bonus.
