Contractor Quality Control Supervisor – Environmental Remediation

Position Description:
The Contractor Quality Control Supervisor (CQCS) is a full-time position that will work remotely throughout the United States located at various project sites and will be responsible for overall management of Contractor Quality Control (CQC). The CQCS shall have appropriate education and experience in environmental remediation and construction. The CQCS is to ensure projects comply with applicable plans, standards, specifications, and environmental practices. This role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection of the workflow process to ensure quality is maintained.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.
- Quality control oversight on environmental remediation and construction projects.
- Act independently as a CQC while coordinating all QC functions so as not to delay construction scheduling.
- Read and understand specifications, reference codes and standards.
- Review and interpret contract drawings.
- Ensure all work is in compliance with contract requirements.
- Review shop drawings for conformance with project specifications
- Ensure all materials and/or equipment have been tested, submitted, and approved.
- Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal.
- Prepare daily QC reports and submit them on a daily basis.
- Timely completion and collection of inspection reports, as required.
- Prepare weekly and monthly quality assurance reports.
- Inspect field sites and identify any problems or inaccuracies and resolve any differences.
- Determine, communicate, and document deficiencies and ensure they are corrected in a timely manner.
- Identify field site safety hazards and take necessary action to eliminate or minimize them.
- Hold meetings with all stakeholders, as needed.
- Work with co-workers and subcontractors to maintain quality control throughout the project life cycle.
- Maintain a testing plan and log.
- Conduct all completion inspections including punch-out, pre-final and finals acceptance.
Experience, Education, and Skills Required:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with environmental remediation and/or construction with at least 2 years of experience in QA/QC.
- 4 years bachelor’s degree or associates degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access and clearance for federal installations.
- Knowledge of fundamental site safety protocols
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to problem solve
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
- Comfortable in a dynamic environment
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listens and gets clarification, and responds well to questions
- Writes clearly and informatively; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer software used in the construction field
- Must pass background check/drug test
Desired Skills:
- Experience and/or working knowledge of risk management and EM 385-1-1.
- Active USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors certificate
- Site Superintendent experience.
- Federal project experience.
- 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations Emergency Response as specified in 29 CFR 1910.120.
- 8-hour Hazardous Waste Operations Refresher as specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200.
- 30-hour OSHA Outreach Construction Training.
Travel:
- Travel will be required; Full-time travel expected.

Salary:
$80,000–$100,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience
